Bilten, 4 July 2025 – The premium chocolate manufacturer from the canton of Glarus has been confirmed as one of Switzerland's ‘Best Managed Companies’ by consulting firm Deloitte, the Swiss stock exchange SIX, Bank Julius Baer and WillisHenry, following on from 2023 and 2024.
Independent recognition of holistic strategy and cultural approach
The Swiss awards are derived from Deloitte's global ‘Best Managed Companies Award’ programme. The internationally recognised programme assesses companies based on factors such as strategy, culture and commitment, capabilities and innovation, as well as governance and finances. The applicants are assessed by an independent jury. The evaluation for the Swiss awards is based on over 30 years of applied practice within the global award programme, which is now conducted in more than 45 countries worldwide.
The jury particularly praised Läderach's consistent international growth strategy, clear corporate positioning combined with strong vision, and innovative impetus for an industry that embodies Swissness like few others. Once again, the company's holistic approach to strategy and cultural change was highlighted.
International growth as a result of successful strategic alignment
"Receiving this prestigious award once again is impressive confirmation that we are on the right track. 2024 was the year in which we opened our 200th store. We now have more than 220 branches in 25 countries,‘ says Johannes Läderach, CEO of Läderach, adding, ’I am particularly pleased about this recognition for our more than 2,500 employees worldwide, without whom our growth would not be possible."
"The past twelve months have been particularly challenging for businesses, marked by geopolitical uncertainty, trade conflicts and a shortage of skilled workers. The winners of this year's Deloitte Best Managed Companies Award have impressively demonstrated that they lead with foresight and agility in this environment. They have prevailed and positioned their companies at the top of their industries. The award-winning companies can be justifiably proud of this achievement. In the demanding evaluation process, they impressed in all key areas: strategy, productivity, innovation, culture and leadership principles," emphasises Andreas Bodenmann, Head of the Best Managed Companies Programme at Deloitte Switzerland.
